The Wicker Man - History created!

History is created yet again. The worst movie on the planet has been released a.k.a 'The Wicker Man'. Just for this tag - I will recommend everyone to watch this movie, so they know that the standards cannot go low beyond this movie, and I think for this reason this movie will earn some money.

But the movie is simply punishing for people like us, who wanted to have a decent evening on Saturday. Some of the things just doesnt make any sense in the movie.

Ryan, Ondrej and me were discussing at the end - the only good moment (for us) was the last scene in the club where the two girls look stunningly hot :) That's it.

Some comments so that its not only me who is saying this:

*BBC - movie review:
"Every time I turn my head, something doesn't make sense!" wails Nicolas Cage in Neil LaBute's The Wicker Man. But what really puzzles is why anyone, let alone the director of the excellent In the Company of Men, would want to blot their copybook with such a shambolic remake of Robin Hardy's 1973 - The Wicker Man"

*"When attempting what is often deemed the most unnecessary of cinematic projects, the remake, a filmmaker can adopt a nearly identical plot but still generate an inferior product."

*"A great thriller has been remade into one of the most laughable. Nicolas Cage seems to be acting in another movie, waving his arms around, shouting, pulling guns and even punching smiling pagan women. And Neil LaBute -- who never met a story he couldn't turn into a paranoid castration fantasy -- dumbs things down enough to insult the stupid."

*"Something Wicker this way comes...and you'd be advised to stay away. Unless you just really want to see Nicolas Cage running through the woods in a bear costume. Sorry, he's not helping prevent forest fires--that would've been more exciting."

yeah, nothings worse then a bad movie on a saturday evening. i saw my super ex girlfriend out of pure random choice 2 weeks ago and almost shot myself in the shin.

if you want to change all of that though, here are some more advisable movies you should go see.

1. inside man (slightly old- 4/5 months but see if you can buy the dvd)

2. united 93
3. miami vice

(saw 2. and 3. this last week and they were worth every second spent in gold! :)..sure you'll like em bro)

hope all else is good. drop me a 'holla.

Hmm, I am not that willing to pay 10e for such a bad movie but yeah, maybe for one of those "I hate the world" nights I can watch this one. :-P

You should add "an inconvenient truth" to your list. It is a documentary on Global Warming, made by Al Gore.

It's well made, he is funny and has lots of stats/facts that leave no place for doubts anymore

Wow, I have to comment this! I really enjoy going to cinema on weekends. So here in Utrecht I am continuing my habits.
And I actually had the 'luck' to see the Wicker man and My super Ex girlfriend. These two were one of the most random movies that I have ever seen! :oD
I think it's worth it reading something about the movie instead of just taking a chance! Because these two were really bad.
Though, the best part in the Wicker man was that they actually let Nicolas Cage burn in that creepy wooden thing. :D

Greetings,

Well, I would like to disagree, I am sure the popcorn is worth it....

A crap movie has its charm too, passing comments in the hall, laughing as loud as you can on the jokes that are not one bit funny...(Atleast in India, you could do that...:p)

Watch "Two for the money" if you havent watched it as yet...

Cheers
