Simplistic view/impact of the US Debt crisis

Not sure if I completely buy the "you cannot raise the taxes" logic here - my take is that you don't need to cover the entire gap with the tax hike, but a slight burden increase on certain strata of the society (you know whom I am referring here ;)) / certain actions on the tax side of things can certainly help!

"No One attacked Mumbai on 26/11"

One more outrage from my side on the 26/11 terrorist attacks on Mumbai. I recently watched "No One killed Jessica" based on a true story of Jessica Lal, who was shot dead in 1999. I am not going to dwell into that movie here, but I want to share my thoughts on what I read today in the news. It's another of such cases.

Today's news:
Kasab (the only terrorist captured alive from the deadly Mumbai attacks in 2008) to appeal to Supreme Court against death verdict. The defense lawyer commented: "In my brief meeting with Kasab, I told him that he can file appeal to the Supreme Court challenging the death sentence awarded to him."

This is absolutely f*#ked up. Why? The judicial system is making a joke out of this. The "process" here is taking over the obvious reality and facts.

- This attack killed 166 people
- He was found guilty of 80 offences, including waging war against the nation. This by law is punishably with the death penalty

But hold on. Let's follow the process. Few months after the attack still went into proving whether he was a Pakistani. Despite so many evidences, Pakistani officials, including President Asif Ali Zardari, initially denied the assertion that Ajmal Kasab was Pakistani. Then it was a story of whether he was a minor or not. Month after month, new complications were brought in, when you see the god damn photo put here and the video captured that he shot people! What kind of a judicial system would let this run like this when its a matter of a national terrorist attack?

I also remember reading an article a year or so ago where the Indian investigators filed a 11,000 page chargesheet against Kasab (why would you spent so much time creating this when things were so obvious?). This was in Marathi and English. On this, Kasab asked translation into Urdu (later actually he confessed that he understood Marathi). Surreal.

That douchebag still has the authority to appeal and how is the defense lawyer supporting this? Can we take 1000 A3 copies of the photo above and paint the walls of the Indian court? Is that enough evidence?

Enough said. My faith in Indian judicial system is similar to my faith for a country like Kenya to win the 2011 cricket world cup. I sincerely hope I do not have to wait 10 years for another movie to be released: "No One attacked Mumbai on 26/11"
