New England Patriots = Indian Cricket team ???

I finally found few minutes to articulate something that has been on my mind for quite a while!

Why does the New England Patriots team remind me of the Indian cricket team (and therefore adds one more reason why I am a die-hard fan of them)?

Here you go - BOOMM! Enjoy the reading with a pinch of salt ;)!
  • The New England Patriots Offense characteristics resemble that of an Indian batting line up, while their Defense of the Indian bowling line up
  • The day the Indian cricket team fails to put up a score of 300+, they will probably lose (due to their sub par bowling); The day New England Offense fails to spark (let's say doesn't score > 25 points, chances are they'll lose due to the sucky defense)
  • That being said, as the Indian batting line up is one of the best in the world, as is the New England Offense in the NFL
  • Indian batting line up revolves around a key star (it was SRT in his era to now a Dhoni or Kohli); Patriots center around Brady
  • Against India, any team could fancy a close game (be it the world class Australians or a team such as Bangladesh or Kenya). It is almost never a comprehensive victory. Such are the games of the Patriots (Even a Jacksonville Jaguars team will create a close match against the Patriots)
  • Most games are decided in the final few seconds. Like the Indian cricket team's close finisher Dhoni who will only wait until the last over to hit sixes and finish the game, most Patriots game will have heart numbing close finishes in the last 30 seconds
